Harrogate-based company The Serious Sweet Company asked us to update and refresh the packaging for their award winning ‘Ultimate English’ range of confectionery. As the packaging needed some continuity from the previous version, we kept their established brand and created a new colour palette – one for each of the products within the range. We also had to bear in mind the fact that the range may expand in future, so needed to leave room within the colourways for that expansion.

For the packaging itself, the client asked us to keep the established cutter-guide. We decided to reduce the size of the branding (which we felt was too big and overpowering) and to use what had been the rear of the packaging as the front. This meant we had an area to work with that was uninhibited by the open/close flap, which now became the back.
